Thank you for choosing a PCI-424 MOTU audio interface. Below you will find additional last minute information that was not included in the PCI-424 System Manual.
Be sure you install the PCI-424 software before installing your PCI-424 card, run SETUP.EXE. Windows' plug-and-play alone does not complete a full install.
Standalone Mixed +4/-10 front panel setting
"+4/-10 mixed" operation in stand-alone mode works differently than
documented in the manual. In this mode, inputs 1-4 operate at +4 and inputs
5-8 operate at -10.
Compatibility
This software is compatible with Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
The PCI-424 supports GSIF versions 2.2 and later.
SONAR Port Naming
SONAR groups similar audio port names and appends numbers to those ports.
In most cases with the 424 card, it nicely configures input and output
ports, ex. Analog 1/2, Analog 3/4, Analog 5/6, etc. Note however, when
configuring AES input or output, SONAR may begin the renumbering process,
effectively creating a "PCI-424 AES/EBU 1-2" port, followed by a "PCI-424
Analog 3-12 1/2" port. In this case, SONAR enables Analog ports 3 through
12, "1/2" describes the first pair of available analog ports, Analog 3/4.
See screen shots.
Alternately, configuring discontinuous ports will prompt SONAR to renumber
audio ports as well. See example of output 5-6 in PCI Audio Console.
MOTU will periodically post software driver updates onto our website downloads area. We recommend that you visit periodically and check on available updates.
Thank you again.
